ICICI FASTag agent: apply and login checks
Check an ICICI Bank FASTag agent offer, separate customer applications from PoS appointments, and ask for the right terms and the access route.
Someone sends you a message: “Become an ICICI FASTag agent. Register here.” There’s a link, maybe a payment request, maybe a login page that looks right. Before you click, pay or send a single document, stop and check who is actually behind the offer.
Here’s the rule to hold on to. NPCI’s onboarding guidelines, A(ii), checked on 18 October 2026, put point-of-sale (PoS) authorisation with the issuer. So the one who can say yes to a FASTag agent is the issuing bank, not whoever sent you the link. Ask ICICI Bank to name the appointment channel, then get the commercial terms and the right agent-access address in writing.
Which ICICI FASTag task do you mean?
Start by deciding what you actually want. Do you want to buy a tag for your own vehicle? Enquire about selling tags? Sign in under an appointment you already have? Or sort out a customer’s account problem? Say which one in the first line of your message.
If you want to sell tags, ask for “appointment as an authorised FASTag PoS agent” and ask to be sent to the team that handles it. Don’t ask for a plain “FASTag ID”. That could mean a customer account or a retail role, and the answer you get back will depend on which one they think you mean.
ICICI Bank’s FASTag overview, reopened on 18 October 2026, describes applying for a tag through the bank’s online channels, including Net Banking, iMobile, InstaBIZ and Pockets. It labels its web access a customer portal for balance and transactions. All of that is for customers. A retail appointment is a separate question, so ask about it separately. And don’t fill in a vehicle-owner purchase form as a shortcut to an agency.
Which login button is for an agent?
This is where people get stuck. On 18 October 2026, ICICI Bank’s point-of-sale location page displayed “NEW CUSTOMER”, “EXISTING CUSTOMER” and “CONCESSIONAIRE LOGIN”. Those labels don’t tell you which address an appointed retail agent should use. And the customer buttons aren’t a verified agent-registration or password-reset route.
So use only the portal that your bank or programme contact has confirmed for your role, and keep that answer with your appointment papers. If someone sends you a different login link, ask whether it’s for customers, outlet operators or some other role. A search result with the bank’s name in the heading is not confirmation.
If a new staff member is taking over, check that the access fits their role too. An old bookmark from the last person may not carry over.
How do you check who’s behind an agency offer?
The NPCI guidelines, A(ii) and A(iii), checked on 18 October 2026, require issuers to sell through their authorised PoS agents and to do detailed KYC of those agents. The issuer must keep the agent KYC details. So ask how the offer sent to your counter fits that arrangement.
Put four questions to the sender, and keep any unanswered one open:
- Who appoints the outlet?
- What permits the work being proposed?
- Who receives your payment?
- Who can confirm the access address?
Ask for a statement that names the issuer and the entity making the offer. Then ask the bank how you can verify that entity’s authority. Don’t assume an ICICI Bank link from an unrelated bank product, a retailer’s screenshot, or a mention of another outlet. If you ask for a named bank, you should get a named answer.
Read the scope as well. Does it cover your location, the person who’ll run the counter, and the vehicle categories you plan to serve? If the offer only mentions recharge help, don’t advertise new-tag issuance.
If the answers only repeat a sales pitch, mark that item as unresolved. Don’t fill the gap with an assumption.
What documents and terms should you ask for?
The documents a FASTag agent needs depend on the issuing bank’s programme, and this article does not list them. SiOnline confirms the list on enquiry. Ask for it in writing.
ICICI Bank’s FASTag FAQs, checked on 18 October 2026, discuss documents for a vehicle owner’s tag application. These include the vehicle registration certificate, the owner’s photograph and KYC documentation. That’s a customer’s list. It isn’t an appointment checklist for a retailer. So don’t send identity documents to anyone until you’ve worked out who they are and why they need them.
When you ask for the agent list, also ask which documents are about you or your firm, which are about the outlet, and how to submit them. Describe your own set-up, whether it’s a shop run by one person or a company, and let the programme contact tell you what applies. Don’t copy another outlet’s list.
FASTag agent fees and commission are not published here. SiOnline shares the figures for your case on enquiry. Ask for them in writing before you pay anything.
Ask that each payment has a purpose and a recipient. Keep any appointment payment, stock arrangement and transaction-related remuneration apart in your notes. Ask whether a quoted amount includes taxes and what proof of payment you’ll get. And never treat a customer’s issuance charge as your margin or as an agent-registration fee.
For the questions to put to a programme, see the FASTag commission page. Use them to get terms, not a forecast. If someone gives you a figure by phone, ask them to put it in writing with its scope.
Which vehicle categories does the appointment cover?
ICICI Bank’s FASTag overview, checked on 18 October 2026, carries the footnote “Apply for Car, Jeep and Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) class only”. Its FASTag FAQ discusses eligibility for owners of Class 4 or above vehicles. Those two descriptions don’t line up neatly, so don’t merge them into a permission you’ve assumed. Ask which vehicle categories your proposed appointment would cover.
If most of your customers drive trucks, say so in your first enquiry. And if your plan is only for cars, ask for that to show in the reply. Don’t sell a category outside your appointment just because a public FAQ mentions it. If you can’t tell which class a vehicle falls into, describe the doubt to the bank and use the route they authorise. Don’t pick the class yourself.
What does the customer handover require?
As checked on 18 October 2026, NPCI’s onboarding guidelines, A(vi), A(x) and A(xi) require proper windscreen fixation, clear disclosure of customer charges before issuance, and printed issuer information with charges and customer-care details at handover. Apply those to the service you give the vehicle owner.
Ask who will train your operator for that handover, and which issuer material you must use. Also ask what to do when a customer can’t bring the vehicle, a fitting attempt fails, or a document is unclear. Don’t make up a local exception because there’s a queue behind the customer.
A(xii) of the same guidelines states that a PoS agent cannot update or modify a vehicle registration number. If a customer wants a correction, send it through the issuer’s authorised process. Don’t call it something you can fix at the counter, and don’t open a second transaction to get round an unresolved record.
Who do you contact at the bank?
ICICI Bank’s customer-care page, reopened on 18 October 2026, lists 1800 2100 104 as a toll-free contact and 1860 2670 104 as a chargeable number. It describes these as support for FASTag account status and transactions. So ask that contact to point you to the right team for an agent-appointment enquiry, since account support may not be able to approve it.
Before you call, have three things ready: your location, the counter role you want, and whether you already hold an appointment. Note down the referral and its purpose. A call reference is not an authorisation certificate.
What if you can’t sign in?
Work out what’s actually happening. Maybe the confirmed address won’t open. Maybe the page opens but your access fails. Maybe you get in but can’t do the work you need. Write down the exact message and when it appeared. Don’t call a rejection a server fault until the support team says so.
In an access ticket, give your business identifier, the confirmed portal address and a short description. Leave out passwords and authentication codes. If a screenshot helps, remove other people’s details first and send it only through the verified channel.
If the support contact suggests a reset, use the route they confirm for your account type. This article supplies no bank-specific reset fields or OTP sequence, and customer-portal steps shouldn’t be applied to a retail account. See the FASTag agent login guidance for questions to ask about issuer access. Use SiOnline support only for a SiOnline-side enquiry. It is not the bank’s password administrator and cannot change a bank-controlled credential.
How can you practise checking an offer?
Here’s an example, made up for practice. Say your shop gets an ICICI-named proposal with a payment request and a customer login link. Ask the sender to name the appointment authority and say what the link is for. Then confirm through a bank channel that you found yourself. This exercise doesn’t prove any real offer is true or false. It just shows you the habit.
If the sender answers the money questions but can’t confirm the access, keep your decision on hold. If the bank confirms the channel but the scope is still fuzzy, ask about scope next. Keep each unanswered item separate. Don’t let one good answer stand in for all the rest.
Common questions
Can a customer application make me an agent?
No. Ask for a separate appointment confirmation for your PoS role. If a form asks for a vehicle owner’s details for a tag purchase, filling it in doesn’t register a retail counter. Read what the form says you’re applying for before you start.
Should I use the concessionaire button to sign in?
Only if your established programme contact confirms it for your role. Don’t read permission into a label. Ask for the address and the account type, and keep the answer.
Does this guide confirm an ICICI arrangement with SiOnline?
No. This guide doesn’t establish an ICICI Bank and SiOnline arrangement. Name ICICI Bank in your enquiry and ask the issuer and the appointment authority to be identified before you look at documents, stock, payments or access. To ask what issuer programme is available, use the FASTag agent enquiry.
