IRCTC agent certificate & authorisation letter

Thousands of people search for this every month, and most of them are after one of two things: their own authorisation letter, or proof that a company is genuinely authorised. Both are below, along with the part nobody says out loud.

Why agents add it

What the letter actually does for you.

It is a piece of paper. In a category where customers have been defrauded, a piece of paper they can read is worth more than an explanation they have to trust.

It answers the doubt

The customer who hesitates before handing over money is asking one question. The letter answers it without you having to argue.

It belongs on your wall

Displayed at the counter it works while you are serving someone else. The cheapest trust signal a shop has.

It names your business

The appointment is documented in your own business name — not ours, and not a shared ID.

It settles corporate enquiries

Companies booking travel for staff routinely ask for documentation before they open an account with an agent.

It is checkable

Anyone can cross-reference the provider named on it against IRCTC's published register. That is the point.

It is replaceable

Lost it? One call. A reissue is not a reapplication and does not cost you a registration.

How it works

Getting or replacing your letter.

For agents already registered with us. If you are not registered yet, start with registration — the letter comes with it.

Your next steps

Have your agent ID ready

Follow the process below. Select a number to explore a step.

  1. Have your agent ID ready

That is all we need to identify you. Never send a password.

  2. Call or WhatsApp us

+91 91091 35959, or use customer care. Support runs 24 hours, 7 days.

  3. Tell us what it is for

A wall copy, a corporate client asking for documentation, and a replacement after a move are slightly different requests.

  4. We confirm your ID is active

A letter should reflect a live appointment. If your ID has lapsed we will tell you, and renewal comes first.

  5. We issue it

Sent to the contact details on your account.

What you need

What proves an agent is genuine.

If you are checking someone else rather than requesting your own, this is the whole list — and you can do all of it yourself in under a minute.

There is no certificate you can download from a search result.

This is the part worth reading twice, because it is where people lose money.

IRCTC authorises Principal Service Providers, and those providers appoint agents. There is no central page where an individual agent downloads a government certificate, and any site offering to sell you one is selling a document that establishes nothing.

What does exist is IRCTC's own register of authorised providers. It is public, it is free, and it settles the question in ten seconds. Open the register and look for the provider's name — ours is at page 6, row 27.

Ask any provider you are considering for their page and row number. The ones who have it answer immediately.

Agent certificate

Questions about the certificate.

What is an IRCTC agent certificate?

In everyday use it means the authorisation letter an agent receives confirming they are appointed under an IRCTC-authorised Principal Service Provider. It is the document you display at your counter and show a customer who asks whether you are genuine.

Does IRCTC issue a certificate directly to agents?

Not as a downloadable document in the way people expect. IRCTC authorises Principal Service Providers, and the provider appoints and documents the agent. What exists centrally is IRCTC's published register of authorised providers — which is the stronger proof anyway, because you can check it yourself.

How do I get a copy of my authorisation letter?

Ask us. Tell us your agent ID on +91 91091 35959 or through customer care and we will reissue it. There is no form to fill in.

How do I check that a provider is genuinely authorised?

Open IRCTC's own PDF register and find the company name. Ours is "M/s SI Online Technomart Pvt. Ltd., Ratlam" at page 6, row 27. A provider that cannot give you a page and row number has told you something useful.

Can I download an IRCTC agent certificate online?

Be careful with sites offering one. A document you download from an unrelated website proves nothing, and paying for a "certificate" is a common way agents lose money. The register check is free and takes ten seconds.

Is the certificate the same as my agent ID?

No. The agent ID is the login that lets you book. The authorisation letter is the paper that tells a customer who you are. You need the first to work and the second to be believed.

Does the letter expire?

It reflects an active appointment, so it follows your agent ID. If your ID lapses and is renewed, ask for a current letter — see agent ID renewal.

Can I display it at my shop?

Yes, and you should. A visible authorisation letter is the cheapest trust signal a counter has, particularly in a category where customers have been cheated before.

My customer wants proof before booking. What do I show them?

Three things: your authorisation letter, the IRCTC register entry for SiOnline, and your agent ID on screen. Together those answer the question completely.

I have lost my letter. Is that a problem?

No. It is a reissue, not a reapplication. Call us with your agent ID.

Need your authorisation letter?

Call +91 91091 35959 with your agent ID and we will reissue it. If you are checking whether we are authorised, page 6 row 27 of IRCTC's register does that without needing us at all.
