Four things that catch agents out.
Packages are seasonal, not static
Departures cluster around holiday and festival calendars. A package that sold out in March may not run again until the following season, which is why a fixed list on a website goes stale so quickly.
Itineraries change more than prices do
Hotels, transfer arrangements and sightseeing stops get revised between departures. Always confirm the current itinerary rather than reusing an older quote.
Group size changes everything
Family and group bookings are where most counter-level tourism revenue comes from, and they need coordinating rather than selling.
Pilgrimage travel behaves differently
It is less price-sensitive and more date-sensitive than leisure travel. Customers will move budget before they move dates.

Are the prices on this page final?
No. Each price is the starting per-person fare printed on the official IRCTC Tourism flyer. The figure for a booking depends on the option chosen and the number of travellers, and is confirmed when we quote.
Can I sell tour packages as an IRCTC agent?

What information do I need from a customer to get a quote?
Destination or circuit, approximate dates, number of travellers and their ages, and any accommodation preference. That is usually enough for a first quote.
How far ahead do customers usually book packages?
Further ahead than tickets, and pilgrimage travel further still. That is useful for a counter, because it means tourism enquiries arrive in months when ticketing is quiet.
What documents does a package booking need?
Passenger details and photo ID for every traveller, as with any booking. Specific itineraries may require more, which is confirmed at the time of quoting.
Do I need to be an IRCTC agent first?
Most agents who sell tourism start with railway ticketing, because it is what brings customers to the counter. If you are not registered yet, start there — registration is ₹3,000 incl. GST.
Is tourism worth it for a single-counter shop?
It depends on where your customers travel. If a meaningful share of your ticket sales go to pilgrimage or tourist destinations, you are already having the first half of the conversation.
