Agent charge per PNR

What an IRCTC agent earns per PNR

Agents earn a fixed charge by class, per PNR rather than per passenger. It is printed on the ticket and collected from the customer. Here is the full rate card, what SiOnline charges you, and why we will not quote you a monthly income.

₹40per AC PNR
₹20per non-AC PNR
Per PNRnot per passenger, printed on the ticket
Rate card

Agent charge by travel class.

Every AC class pays the same. Every non-AC class pays the same. There is no tiering by fare value, distance or train type.

ClassDescriptionAgent charge
1A First AC ₹40 per PNR
2A Second AC ₹40 per PNR
3A Third AC ₹40 per PNR
CC Chair Car ₹40 per PNR
EC Executive Chair Car ₹40 per PNR
SL Sleeper ₹20 per PNR
2S Second Sitting ₹20 per PNR

This is the only amount you may collect from the customer for a booking, on top of the fare and charges on the ticket. IRCTC does not allow extra charges.

The part people get wrong

Per PNR, not per passenger.

This is the single most misunderstood number in railway agency, and getting it wrong will make your projections look twice as good as reality.

A PNR carrying four passengers in 3A earns you ₹40. A PNR carrying one passenger in 3A earns you ₹40. The charge attaches to the booking, not to the head count.

Anyone building a business case on "₹40 × passengers" is building it on roughly four times the real number. We would rather you knew that before you registered than after.

Not ₹160. The same ₹40, because IRCTC allows no extra charge on top.

Why we will not tell you what you will earn a month.

Because we would be guessing, and you would be making a decision on our guess.

Monthly earnings depend on your footfall, your location and the classes your customers travel in. Two agents on identical terms can earn very differently. The rate per PNR is a fact; a monthly income is a projection with your name on it, not ours.

What we will do is walk through the arithmetic with you using your own expected volume. Call +91 91091 35959 — support runs 24 hours, 7 days.

What we charge, and what we do not pay

We pay no commission and share no payment-gateway charges.

SiOnline charges you only the ticket fare, the payment-gateway (PG) charges and the IRCTC charges. Your per-PNR charge is printed on the ticket, and you collect it from the customer.

Some providers pass a portion of the payment-gateway charge back to agents. We do not. If that materially changes your economics, it is a fair and sensible reason to compare providers — and you should, rather than discovering it in month three.

What we compete on instead is turnaround, 24 hours, 7 days support, and the number of services that run from one login.

Agent charges

Questions about what agents earn.

How much commission does an IRCTC agent get?

SiOnline pays agents no commission. What an agent earns is the fixed charge printed on the ticket: ₹40 on AC classes and ₹20 on non-AC classes, per PNR, collected from the customer. It is set by class and is not negotiated between providers.

Is the agent charge per PNR or per passenger?

Per PNR. This is the single most misunderstood point. A PNR carrying four passengers in AC is charged ₹40, the same as a PNR carrying one. Booking four passengers separately would earn more but is not how a genuine booking works.

Can I charge the customer a service fee on top?

No. IRCTC does not allow agents to charge anything beyond the fixed ₹40 (AC) or ₹20 (non-AC) per PNR. That amount is printed on the ticket and you collect it from the customer.

Do agents get a share of payment-gateway charges?

Not with us. Some providers do pass a share back, and if that matters to your economics it is a legitimate reason to compare. We would rather state it plainly than bury it.

How much can I earn per month as an IRCTC agent?

That depends entirely on your booking volume, which depends on your location and footfall. We publish the rate per PNR rather than a monthly figure, because any provider quoting you a guaranteed monthly income is guessing — and a guess is a poor basis for a business decision.

Is the agent charge different for Tatkal bookings?

No. The charge is set by class. What changes with Tatkal is access, not the amount: agents are blocked for the first 30 minutes of the window. The rule is here.

When is commission settled?

SiOnline pays no commission, so there is nothing to settle. We charge you the ticket fare, payment-gateway (PG) charges and IRCTC charges. Your per-PNR charge is printed on the ticket and you collect it from the customer. If an amount looks wrong, call +91 91091 35959 with the transaction reference rather than the approximate date — it makes the check immediate rather than a search.

What does SiOnline charge me on each ticket?

Only the ticket fare, the payment-gateway (PG) charges and the IRCTC charges. The agent charge of ₹40 or ₹20 per PNR is printed on the ticket and collected from the customer.

Does the agent charge change by provider?

The per-PNR amount is set by class. What differs between providers is what they add or withhold around it — payment-gateway share, support, and what happens when a booking fails.
