Protean or UTI PSA: find your PAN agent login
Identify your PAN provider and account route before signing in. Separate Protean application services, UTIITSL services and SiOnline PSA access.
You type “PAN login” into a search box and get a page of results. Some are for customers, some are for agents, and a few have a name you half remember from years ago. It’s easy to land on the wrong one and then wonder why your password doesn’t work.
Here’s the thing: your PAN agent login depends on who supplied your account, not on what a search result is called. So the first job is to work out who that is. The second is to keep your own agent access apart from a customer’s tracking or e-PAN request, because they live on different pages.
Why are there so many places to log in?
Two organisations process PAN applications, and each has its own set of public pages. UTIITSL’s public PAN notice, reopened on 19 October 2026, names UTIITSL and Protean as the two entities appointed by the Income Tax Department to receive and process PAN applications and related services.
That tells you who does the processing. It doesn’t tell you who supplied your agent account. And it doesn’t show that the two organisations accept the same user ID and password.
On top of that, many public pages with “PAN” in the heading are meant for customers. They help someone track an application or download an e-PAN. They aren’t an agent dashboard, even if the page looks official.
Who supplied your account?
Start with paperwork. Find the accepted quote, the registration receipt or the onboarding message. Note the business name of the supplier and the service it describes.
If all it says is “PAN ID”, that isn’t enough. Ask the supplier two plain questions: what account did you give me, and where do I sign in to it?
Then keep three lines in a note somewhere:
- Who supplied your account.
- Which organisation processed the customer’s request.
- What you’re trying to do right now.
This matters more than it sounds. A customer might ask about an old application while you’re trying to recover your own login. Those are two different problems, and the customer’s receipt is not proof of your agent appointment.
How does a SiOnline PSA agent sign in?
SiOnline UTI PSA agents sign in on the SiOnline portal, which is connected to the UTI portal. There’s no direct UTI access for SiOnline agents, and SiOnline provides wallet-based IDs only. That means you load a wallet, and each PAN application is deducted from it. There are no coupons.
SiOnline’s UTI PSA login page, reopened on 19 October 2026, describes access the same way (source: SiOnline UTI PSA login page, 19 October 2026). Use the UTI PSA login page and the PAN agent sign-in guide to find the right door.
If a message points you to some other address, don’t type your credentials in. Ask SiOnline to confirm the address first.
This guide doesn’t describe a Protean agency login, and it doesn’t cover moving credentials from one provider to another.
Which public page matches your task?
Read the page heading and the input boxes before you type anything. A page called “PAN login” can still be wrong for the job in front of you.
The table below is about public Protean services, checked on 19 October 2026. It doesn’t describe any agent dashboard.
| Task | What the public page shows | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Track a Protean PAN or TAN application | Application Type and a numeric acknowledgement field; the tracker specifies a 15-digit number | Match the receipt to the tracking task. Do not enter an agent password |
| Request an electronic PAN copy | Get e-PAN Card offers PAN and Acknowledgement Number modes, limited to a latest application processed through Protean | Read the service conditions before choosing a mode |
| Prepare a PAN application or change request | Protean’s downloads index lists Forms 93, 94, 95 and 96, and change-request forms CR-01 and CR-02 | Pick the task and applicant category first |
| Use or recover an agent account | None of the above shows an agent account’s sign-in fields | Use your supplier’s verified instructions |
A matching field name doesn’t mean the customer asked for that service. The e-PAN page and the tracker both take an acknowledgement number, but one gets a copy of the PAN and the other shows where an application stands.
Forms deserve a quick word too. As of 19 October 2026, Protean’s downloads index lists Forms 93 to 96. Which one fits which applicant is not something this guide decides. Confirm the right form on the current UTIITSL list before you prepare anything.
Say a customer brings a Protean acknowledgement
This is an example, not a real case. A customer comes in and wants to know where their PAN application stands. The receipt says Protean and carries a numeric acknowledgement. The account you have at your shop was supplied under a different arrangement.
What do you do? Begin by asking what they actually want. Status? A corrected detail? A physical card? An electronic copy? Say it back to them: “You want to find out where the old application stands, not file a new one.” If they say yes, you’ve got your task.
Now compare the task with the table. A status question points to the tracker, because it asks for the application type and the acknowledgement number. The e-PAN page is a different job, even though it also takes an acknowledgement.
And please don’t start a fresh application just because your agent account happens to open. A new application doesn’t answer the question they asked.
If the receipt is torn, unclear, or doesn’t show who processed the request, leave that part blank. Ask the customer to bring the original acknowledgement, or to contact whoever filed it. Don’t make up a reference number, and don’t tell them the application failed when you don’t know that.
Say your message only says “PAN ID”
Another example, also not a real case. A shop owner paid for something. The receipt and the message say “PAN ID”, but neither names the programme or the page to sign in on. Later, a different message arrives with a different web address.
You don’t know yet whether either address is genuine, or whether any login was ever delivered. So don’t guess. Pause before entering credentials anywhere, and keep both messages plus the payment receipt.
Then send the supplier two separate questions: which account did you supply, and what verified sign-in address goes with it? A reply that only repeats “PAN ID” hasn’t answered either one. If the reply names a processor but not the organisation responsible for your account, ask for that missing piece.
It also helps to check a changed address through a contact you already trust, not just through the sender of the new message. Ask whether the new instructions apply to your existing account, and whether any pending work needs its own enquiry.
Until you get a clear answer, access is still the open question. A fresh login on some other site doesn’t move an earlier payment or application across.
What does the old NSDL name mean?
Older receipts and emails may say NSDL. Protean’s PAN reprint instructions, reopened on 19 October 2026, identify Protean as formerly NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited. So if you see the old name on a receipt, that’s the clue: it’s the same company under its new name.
That’s all it tells you. It doesn’t make any website with NSDL in its name a current agent sign-in page. And it doesn’t mean a UTI password will work on a Protean site, or the other way round.
If someone offers to convert your account from one to the other, slow down. Ask for the programme, the agreement and an official way to check it before you pay anything.
How far did the problem get?
“Can’t log in” can mean a few different things. Work out the last thing that actually happened, then prepare your enquiry around that.
| Observation | Prepare for the enquiry | Do not conclude |
|---|---|---|
| The page does not open | Verified address and the browser error | That the account has expired |
| The page opens but refuses sign-in | Account identifier and the exact message | That a customer’s application was rejected |
| The account opens but a service is missing | The service you selected | That another provider’s account should be used |
| A customer request may have been submitted | Original reference, last action, receiving route | That a second payment is a way to test it |
A page that opens, an account that opens, and a customer request that goes through are three different things. Don’t treat one as proof of the others.
Keep your payment apart from the customer’s
Your own agent-account payment and a customer’s application payment are separate money. Keep them separate in your notes too.
If the account you were given doesn’t match your accepted quote, hold on to the quote, the receipt and the message. Ask the supplier to explain the difference before you pay again.
For a customer’s application, write down whether you know it was submitted and who holds the record. A new login or a changed bookmark doesn’t undo or move an earlier payment. If that payment is the problem, ask the channel that took it.
Write your unresolved question in one clear line. “Account route not known” and “customer’s application status not known” are different enquiries. An answer to the first shouldn’t close the second.
What should you ask before you pay or sign in?
- Which account and programme am I getting?
- Where exactly do I sign in, and who confirms that address?
- Is it a wallet-based ID or something else?
- What happens to my payment if the account isn’t what the quote said?
- Who do I contact if I can’t sign in?

How do you send one focused access enquiry?
For a SiOnline account, contact support with your agent ID, the service name, the page address you used, the exact message you saw and the last thing you did before it stopped working. Never send a password or an OTP in a general message.
For another supplier, use that supplier’s verified contact route. Cover unrelated customer details in any screenshot you send.
Once you know your route, keep a small note with the supplier, the service, what each login is for and the verified address. Keep customer tracking, agent access and e-PAN requests on separate lines. Leave passwords out of the note.
Common questions
Can I use my SiOnline login on a Protean page?
Nothing on the public Protean pages shows that. SiOnline UTI PSA agents sign in on the SiOnline portal. If you’re unsure, contact support with your agent ID before entering anything.
A customer wants to track a PAN application. Where do I send them?
If the receipt says Protean, the public tracker asks for an application type and a 15-digit acknowledgement number, as of 19 October 2026. Don’t use your agent password there. If the receipt names a different channel, ask that channel.
Is Protean the same as NSDL?
Protean says on its reprint instructions page that it was formerly NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited. The name changed, but that doesn’t make every old NSDL web address a working login.
Which PAN form should I pick?
Protean’s downloads index lists Forms 93, 94, 95 and 96, as of 19 October 2026. This guide doesn’t say which applies to whom, so check the current UTIITSL list.
