Multi-service retailer platform: 12 questions
Twelve questions to ask any multi-service retailer platform before you pay, how to check IRCTC's register yourself and what SiOnline publishes.
If you have a bit of spare counter space, you may well get a pitch like this one. “Sir, one login, one wallet, all services. Ticketing, PAN, FASTag, bill payments, recharge. Just pay and start.” It sounds neat. But what are you actually paying for, and who is behind each service?
The trick is to put the same twelve questions to every platform that pitches you, and to ask for the answers in writing. The questions work for any provider, SiOnline included. Under the questions where SiOnline has published facts, you’ll find them, so you can hold us to the same test.
This page is for the owner who wants several services on one counter, like ticketing, PAN, FASTag, bill payments and recharge. If all you want is an IRCTC agent ID, how to choose a reliable IRCTC agent covers that narrower decision.
How do you use these questions?
Send all twelve in one message, by WhatsApp or email, so you have the answers on record. Then put the replies side by side. A platform that answers clearly and attaches a figure to each point is easier to trust than one that says “we’ll explain on a call”. Phone calls are fine for a first chat. But anything that costs you money should be written down.
Who is behind the platform?
1. Which company runs the platform, and where is it registered?
Ask for the legal name, the registered address and the email, and match them to the invoice and agreement you’ll receive. A platform that gives only a brand name, a mobile number and a messaging handle has told you very little.
SiOnline’s legal name is SI Online Technomart Private Limited. Its address is 435, Mid Town, Near Omaxe City, Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, India, 457001.
2. Can I verify its authority on the authority’s own page?
Most services have an authority behind them: IRCTC, an issuing bank, NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. (NBBL) or UTIITSL. For each service you plan to buy, ask which authority stands behind it, then check there wherever you can. For mobile recharge, ask which bank or biller partner sits behind the platform.
- IRCTC. IRCTC doesn’t register a new retail e-ticketing agent directly. Principal Service Providers (PSPs) do. IRCTC publishes their names in its register, titled “IRCTC Authorized Service Providers (Agents)” (PDF created 30 March 2026). On 17 October 2026 it listed SiOnline under the Internet Cafe Scheme (ICS) on page 6, row 27, as “M/s SI Online Technomart Pvt. Ltd., Ratlam”. To check a company, search its legal name in the register’s ICS, B2B and B2C lists. If it’s missing, ask which listed PSP it works through, and check that name instead. A listing only shows that a company is on the register. IRCTC’s integration policy (w.e.f. 2 September 2020) also says the PSP should give every retail agent a Certificate of Authorisation, to be displayed at the outlet.
- FASTag. The Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) FAQ said on 17 October 2026 that a customer buys a FASTag at Point of Sale locations at toll plazas, and at outlets of National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) member banks, their distribution agents or their sales offices. So ask which bank’s programme the platform would put you under.
- Bill payments. The Reserve Bank of India’s Bharat Bill Payment System Directions, 2024 (29 February 2024) name NBBL as the operator. They define an agent institution as an entity certified by NBBL that provides the customer interface for bill payments. Ask under which certified entity you’d collect bills.
- PAN. The Income Tax Department issues PANs. SiOnline’s UTI PSA registration is a wallet-based ID used on the SiOnline portal. Ask which model the platform provides and how each application is charged to you, in writing.
For FASTag, bill payments and PAN, ask for written confirmation from the issuing bank, NBBL or UTIITSL. A platform that can’t name the authority behind a service shouldn’t get your money for that service. SiOnline can point you to its IRCTC register entry. For the other services, ask us the same question.
3. What exactly is in the quote?
Ask for a quote that lists each service, what’s included and what isn’t. If a plan is described as covering several services, get the inclusions in writing.
On SiOnline’s current registration-fees page, as of 17 October 2026, Premium costs ₹4,000 including GST. Apart from IRCTC, the page says it adds IRCTC tourism services, FASTag, bill payments and PAN card “and more”, and that the rest is explained on a call. So ask which charges Premium covers, and get the answer in writing before you pay.
What do you pay, and when?
4. What is every charge, one-off and recurring?
Ask for one sheet that separates what you pay once, every month and every year from what you only hold. Here are SiOnline’s figures as of 17 October 2026:
| Item | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Standard registration | ₹3,000 incl. GST | One-off, non-refundable, OTP login |
| Agent ID renewal | ₹2,360 per year | Separate from monthly maintenance |
| OTP login renewal | ₹1,180 per year | Separate from monthly maintenance |
| Monthly maintenance (IRCTC IDs) | ₹236 per month | Does not replace either renewal |
| Minimum wallet balance | ₹199 | Held as a deposit, not a fee; not specific to one service |
| UTI PSA agent registration | ₹1,180 | Wallet-based ID; ask about GST |
Add up the first-year total yourself from a sheet like this one. If you can’t, the platform hasn’t told you enough.
FASTag agent fees and commission are not published here. SiOnline shares the figures for your case on enquiry. Ask for them in writing before you pay anything. And if a platform won’t put a figure in writing, you have nothing to compare it with.
One more number that people mix up. PAN application charges set by UTIITSL are not an agent fee. They’re what the application costs: ₹107 for a physical PAN card with e-PAN dispatched in India, and ₹72 for an e-PAN only, as of 17 October 2026. Source: UTIITSL home page.
5. Is the fee refundable, and when?
On SiOnline’s pages, as of 26 October 2026, the Standard IRCTC registration is non-refundable. It can be paid in 2 instalments: the first at signup, and the second when document verification completes. The agent ID is created only after 100% payment.
Whatever a platform tells you, ask whether it takes any payment before your eligibility is checked. And ask what you get back if you stop.
6. What does it say about income?
Be careful with any monthly figure. It’s a guess, because the platform hasn’t seen your counter or your customers. SiOnline says the IRCTC agent charge is fixed per PNR: ₹40 for AC classes and ₹20 for non-AC classes, as of 17 October 2026. It’s printed on the ticket and collected from the customer. IRCTC’s Norms for Internet Cafe Scheme say such customer charges are “liable to change without notice”.
So a platform that quotes you an income has told you what it hopes, not what will happen.
What about the wallet and failures?
7. How does the wallet work?
Ask what the minimum balance is, whether it stays yours, what a top-up costs and what happens to your balance if you leave. Ask too whether one login and one wallet cover every service, or whether each service has its own balance and its own rules.
For IRCTC IDs, as of 17 October 2026, SiOnline’s rule is that top-up is free up to the agent’s defined daily limit, then ₹100 per transaction. Ask any provider, SiOnline included, how an unused balance is returned, and get that in writing.
8. What happens when a transaction fails?
Ask for the written rule for a failed or pending transaction. What do you do? What reference do you need? Where does the reversal show up? At SiOnline, failed transactions are reconciled. If a reversal hasn’t reached your wallet, contact support.
Keep one thing separate. A refund for a cancelled ticket is a different matter, because IRCTC decides it.
9. Does the provider share charges or pay commission?
Ask whether you get any commission or share of payment-gateway charges, and where that’s written down. On IRCTC agent IDs, SiOnline pays agents no commission and shares no payment-gateway charges. It charges the agent only ticket fare + PG charges + IRCTC charges. Ask the same question for FASTag, bill payments and PAN.
Support, training and leaving
10. Who answers, and when?
Call the number before you pay, at an hour when you’d need help. SiOnline’s support is by phone, and by email or ticket, 24 hours, 7 days. WhatsApp is on 9109135959, and the help desk is support@sionline.co.in. A provider you can reach only in office hours may not help when a customer is standing at your counter in the evening.
11. What demonstration comes before payment?
Ask to see the panel working before you register. SiOnline’s current demo page says you can watch its tutorials or ring for a walkthrough before you send any document. Watch the videos and judge for yourself.
12. Can I leave, and what happens to my ID and balance?
Ask whether the ID stays in your business name, how your balance is returned and whether any fee applies. IRCTC issues the agent ID in your business name. What a provider does when you close is for the provider to state, so ask for the closure terms in writing at the start, not at the end.
What are the red flags on any platform?
- It can’t name the authority behind a service.
- It asks for a password, an OTP or remote access to your computer.
- It takes payment before checking your eligibility, or won’t say what happens to your balance if you leave.
If you see even one of these, slow down. You can always walk away and ask the next platform the same twelve questions.
So which platform should you choose?
No single platform suits every counter. Compare the candidates on the twelve questions. Choose the one that answers all of them in writing and covers the services your own customers already ask for. Don’t add a service just because it comes in the bundle.
If this matches what you need, ask about becoming a SiOnline retailer. You can also read the services page, the pricing page and the PSP list page first, and see a demo before you register.
